Eligibility Rules
Since the purpose of the league is to ensure fair, competitive and safe play for all players, the Spirit League is not suitable for all children.
Since there are no try-outs for Spirit!League, it is incumbent on the parents to make sure that their children meet the Basic Eligibility Requirements.
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- The child must be 6 years old on the date of player evaluations.
- Children must have the physical ability to participate. They must be able to run, kick, throw and catch at a “minimum” level.
- Children must have the emotional ability to play. They must not be overly aggressive or disruptive, and must be able to follow simple instructions.
Parents are expected to make the primary determination as to whether the league is appropriate for their child. However, the leadership of the league will continually evaluate every player’s ability to meet the Basic Eligibility Requirements.
If it is determined that the player does not meet the Basic Eligibility Requirements, a referral will be made to a more appropriate sports program.
If you have any questions about whether the Spirit League is the best fit for your child, please contact us.
All parents must complete certain forms before their children may participate. These forms may be downloaded from the Forms Tab. Please bring these forms on the first day of play.
